OUR CALL: Church Historical Site Missionaries, Palmyra, New York

Our mission started October 26th, 2009. As we entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, we were nervous and excited. Little did we know then what absolute joy and blessings were ahead of us. This is our story through words and pictures of some of our special experiences as we serve in the "Cradle of the Restoration". Walking Sacred ground everyday and teaching and testifying of what we know to be true. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to earth in this the latter days, and we humbly strive to do our part as directed by the Spirit of the Lord through prayer, service, obedience, and love.

Kirtland, Ohio

Kirtlin was more than expected. We arrived on a beautiful Fall day in November. The grounds around the Visitor's site were beautiful...felt like we were back in the 1800's with all the restored homes, stores, saw mills. The church really does this restoration business right! The Sister Missionaries took us on a tour and made it informative and fun. We enjoyed being in the Newll K. Whitney store and sitting in the upstairs room that was used for "The School of the Prophets", where the Word of Wisdom revelation came. The temple is owned and tours given by the RLDS religion. We could see the temple up the hill but didn't have time to go on a tour, so in one year on our way home we will stop to do that. Anxious to get to Palmyra!
